August 10th is chosen to start a countdown of 21 days, maybe to give tribute to Nvidia’s first modern GPU: the GeForce 256, which was released 21 years back.

In May 2020, Nvidia already unveiled its Ampere GPU architecture for scientific computing, cloud graphics and data analytics. The next line of community to get the new high powered GPU will be the PC Gaming community.
