MI A3 which runs smoothly on close-to-stock Android version and is eligible to get 3 years of monthly security updates is now facing a break in functionality due to a mistake made by company Xiaomi. Xiaomi has accidentally pushed in Mexican carrier Telcel firmware to the MI A3 global variants. The latest update (V11.0.3.0.QFQMXTC) reportedly breaks the dual-SIM functionality of the phone, introduces a carrier-specific logo in the boot animation out of the blue, and commits a bunch of unexpected changes.
