Xiaomi debuts all new Redmi 9 series smartphones

Xiaomi on Wednesday announced 3 new smartphone models within the budget segment: Redmi 9, Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C. These smartphones will have powerful Mediatek processors with the top model offering quad camera arrays.

1- Redmi 9: It will be the most feature packed device among the 3 with quad rear camera setup (13MP wide-angle, 8MP ultra-wide angle, 118 FOV, 5MP Macro, 2MP depth) and 8 MP front camera. The device also integrates fun and creativity into the photography experience with premium camera features, including Kaleidoscope and Palm Shutter. Screen will have Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Battery capacity is rated at juicy 5020 mAh. Device also supports upto 18W wired fast charging.

To round it out, Redmi 9 also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, and multifunctional NFC2, while supporting dual SIM usage and an additional microSD card slot expandable up to 512 GB. Recommended retail price at EUR 149 (~Rs 13000) for the 3GB+32GB variant and EUR 169 (~Rs 14500) for the 4GB+64GB variant.

2- Redmi 9C: This device will accommodate triple rear camera setup (13MP main, 2MP macro, 2MP depth) and a 5MP front camera housed in teardrop shaped cutout on screen.
Redmi 9C will be available at a recommended retailing price of EUR 119 (~Rs 10000) for 2GB + 32GB variant, and EUR 139 (~Rs 12000) for 3GB + 64GB variant.

3- Redmi 9A: Being the lowest end entry level smartphone, it has a single mounted rear AI optimized camera of 13MP and 5MP front camera. Screen size is said to be 6.53” with a large 5000 mAh battery to support entire day usage.

Redmi 9A comes at 2GB + 32GB and will be available at a recommended retailing price of EUR 99 (~Rs 8500).
