Google has reportedly removed 25 Apps from Play Store after French cyber-security firm
Evina claimed that they stole Facebook credentials of users. These 25 apps were collectively downloaded more than 2.34 million times before they were taken down.
These apps were containing malicious code which would overlay a fake Facebook login page over a legitimate login page. If users entered credentials on this phishing page, the malicious app would log the data and send it to a remote server. This is a classic phishing technique of stealing credentials.
Google has removed and also disable these apps on the user’s phone.
If you have ever installed any of these 25 apps listed below, immediately remove them from you devices. It is also advisable to change your Facebook password immediately.
