Today we will be suggesting a custom PC build with an emphasis on Gaming performance and occasional streaming, video editing/rendering.
Starter Rulers:
- Our budget is around 70000 INR.
- Our budget excludes other peripherals such as external monitors, keyboards, mouse, UPS, headsets and Operating System license etc.
For any PC building, we need below necessary components:
1. CPU: Once you have thought of building a PC, first thing you have to decide is choosing a CPU/ processor. Currently there are 2 prime manufactures of CPU: AMD and Intel. While AMD offers budget CPUs with relatively new CPU fabrication technology, Intel delivers consistent performance and better thermal management. In any days, CPUs from both manufactures are capable of providing you stable performance delivery to fulfill your daily tasks need unless you are a technology geek and loves overclocking and changing different settings, making system unstable.
For our build we are choosing AMD Ryzen 5 3600. If your prime focus is on Gaming, then you can lower your budget here and can go for Ryzen 5 3300x or Ryzen 5 2600x. But our chosen CPU Ryzen 5 3600 is a perfect choice with AMD’s latest Zen2 architecture based 7nm FinFET processor. It has a base clock of 3.6 GHz with turbo boost upto 4.2 GHz. It has 6 cores and 12 threads which can easily handle multitasking and other CPU intensive applications.
2. 2. CPU Cooler: For CPU cooler we are going with AMD Wraith Stealth stock cooler which comes out of the box with Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. The cooler comes with pre-applied thermal paste which will keep the processor well within its temperature limits.
3. 3. Motherboard: In simple terms, motherboard connects the CPU with memory. Typical motherboards have a series of sockets, I/O, allowing communication through cables with various peripheral devices, both inside and outside the computer case.
We will be selecting AM4 socket based motherboard. Though there are lot of options and various series which can support our chosen CPU, our budget will allow a decent B450 series motherboard. There are popular manufacturers such as MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS, Asrock which has a variety of B450 series motherboard in the range of 6500 to 14000 INR. But after a lot of research and comparison, we found Asrock B450 Pro4 motherboard an overall better motherboard than its counterparts. You can also go for Asrock B450m Pro4 whose price is slightly lower to our choice. The only difference we found was the form factor between two and B450 pro4 has 2 additional SATA 6 Gb/s ports.

4. 4. RAM (Random Access Memory): It is said that AMD’s CPU are RAM hungry CPU. So we will be selecting 2 sticks of 8 GB DDR4 memories clocked at 3200 MHz speed. You can go for any brand. This will be sufficient for our gaming needs.
5. 5. Graphics Card: Now coming to the important choice. Our goal is to play all graphic intensive games on high/ultra settings, with 1080p resolution (occasional 1440p gaming) and a consistent delivery of more than 60fps throughout games.
For this purpose we have selected Galax GeForce GTX 1660 Super 1-click OC 6GB graphics card, capable of fulfilling our gaming needs and also future proof. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660was the answer to folks looking for a GPU that’s under budget but powerful to tackle 1080p gaming at high settings, offering an incredible price-to-performance ratio. And, the GTX 1660 Super simply improves on that with faster speed and a better video memory. It’s an affordable graphics card with excellent performance and doesn’t get too hot during long gameplays.
While there are premium card makers such as ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, we have brands such as ZOTAC, Inno3D, GALAX, Colorful for budget gamers, choosing which we can save around 2000 INR over premium brands. And honestly there is NO significant performance lags apart from some cost cutting in quality of material used in building physical parts such as fans.
6. 6. SSD (Solid State Drive): We are choosing a 240GB M.2 SSD drive as our primary storage. Our operating system will be installed on it for fast boot-up, read and writes and we can install our frequently used applications, games for better lag free performance.
7. 7. HDD (Hard Disk Drive): 1 TB of Hard Disk Drive will serve as secondary storage and can store our files such as videos, audios, images and other office related files.
8. 8. PSU (Power Supply Unit): Since custom PC building is all about future ready building, we will be selecting atleast 550W of Power supply unit to provide a consistent supply to all our pc components so that it can accommodate additional expansion of components in future, if we chose to.
We have selected Antec VP 550P power supply for this purpose. Our recommendation is to go for atleast Bronze rated PSU unit to save some buck in your monthly electric bill.
9. 9. Cabinet: Choosing a PC cabinet is all about personal choice. Some buyers like their cabinets wrapped around different RGB lighting, while some like it plain and simple. Some go for aesthetics while some go for robustness. While we have selected a balance of all these quality and have selected Antec NX600 gaming cabinet. It is a Mid-Tower gaming case comes pre-installed with 4 ARGB (3 x 120mm in front, 1 x 120 mm in back) fans with dedicated button in front panel to control RGB lighting. It also has full tempered glass side panel with closed chamber for your PSU unit.
With that being said, here is the prices of all components gather around different popular Indian reseller websites. Please note these prices may vary from time to time and stocks availability can also be a trouble sometime. However you can always go for similar alternatives for components such as RAM, PSU, SSD, and HDD:

From above comparison table, we can conclude primeabgb offers lowest price on different components, while Amazon offers highest (all prices are listed as on 29th June 2020) . But prices and stock also can vary. For some delivery regions there may be delivery charges applicable. During the time when entire world is suffering from Covid-19 disease, PC market has gone haywire. Stocks are less and prices are strange. So it’s better to research both offline and online market before making any purchase decision.
