Nvidia on Tuesday has released its next generation of Graphics card, the GeForce RTX 30 series. The new series of graphics card is based on Nvidia’s Ampere Architecture with 2nd Generation of Ray Tracing Cores and 3rd Generation on Tensor Cores. The new series of GPUs : RTX 3090, RTX 3080, RTX 3070, is claimed to offer nearly twice the performance and power efficiency of the GeForce RTX 20 series.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
The GeForce RTX 3070 will be the least expensive and affordable option for gamers. Compared to older GeForce RTX 2070, it will be 60% faster on average and is suitable for 1440p as well as 4K gaming.
The RTX 3070 will have 5888 CUDA Cores running at a boost clock frequency of 1.73GHz. It will have 8GB of GDDR6 graphics memory to support high gaming specs. This RTX 3070 will be faster than RTX 2080Ti at a price less than half as much.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080
The “Ultimate Gaming GPU” GeForce RTX 3080 is twice as fast as the GeForce RTX 2080. Gamers can play 60fps consistent gameplay at 4K resolution.
The RTX 3080 will have 8704 CUDA Cores running at a boost clock frequency of 1.71GHz. It will have 10GB of GDDR6X graphics memory.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090
The mighty and the “big ferocious GPU”, as Nvidia is calling it, GeForce RTX 3090 will be the new flagship bearer of Nvidia’s GPU lineups. RTX 3090 has a triple-slot cooler with a new dual-axial airflow design that positions one fan on the front and another on the rear. Nvidia claims that the new design makes it 10x quieter and upto 30 degrees C cooler than current designs.
The RTX 3080 will have 10496 CUDA Cores running at a boost clock frequency of 1.70GHz. It will have a whooping 24GB of GDDR6X graphics memory making other GPUs appear as tiny ones. It is said to be upto 50% faster than current Titan RTX cards and is capable of delivering 60fps consistent gameplay at 8K resolution.
Prices and availability
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 prices will start at Rs 51,000 in India and these GPUs will be available in October 2020.
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 prices will start at Rs 71,000 in India and these GPUs will be available on September 17th.
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 prices will start at Rs 1,52,000 in India and these GPUs will be available on September 24th.
The new RTX 30 series of GPU cards will use a new 12-pin PCIe power connector. An adapter will be included with each card.
